One of the most satisfying aspects of working with our kits is having fun with the painting process. In order to get the best possible finish, our resin components first need to be primed. For a number of years, I have used and recommended Floquil brand of model railroad paints, airbrushed as a primer coat. These pigments are very finely ground and because they are lacquer based, they adhere well and dry almost immediately. The disadvantages inherent with this method is the potentially high cost per bottle, the hassle of setting up an airbrush, the need for a solvent other than water and the fumes.
It can make the "prep work" of your project into a time consuming chore.
More and more, I have gotten to the point of streamlining the preparation process and a part of the solution is using aerosol spray cans for priming parts.
The brands/types of aerosol paints I advocate are shown in the photo.

The first can of Krylon Tough Coat is actuall a primer for metal parts. I have used it successfully on resin and styrene plastic, so it is versatile. The two big advantges of using this paint are:
The pigment sprays in a "fan" pattern instead of a "cone" pattern and that allows for a very light even coat over a larger area.
The spray is a very fine, almost transparant mist and that is desirable for not obscurinig fine surface details.
Also worth mentioning is the color is a good base for some military vehicles and looks very close to plastic "army men" green.

The photos show a plastic tank kit with a suitable Krylon prime coat and a toy motorcycle that is a good color match.
