This is another short description of one of my favorite detailing items. These "Easy-Glue Eyes" can be found at craft stores and are very inexpensive. The photo shows the selection of sizes I have on hand at the moment but the available size range is even greater. Obviously meant for people creating characters or dolls, over the years I have found a number of uses for them on projects of all types.

You may find that these become problem solving tools rather than items you design around. By that, I mean you will think of these when you are building something and need a hemisphere, pan, dish, dome, dial cover, lens, cap, etc.
The photo shows one being used as the cap of a fluted pillar for my Wespe article. The column is the cap to an art marker.

If you need a hemisphere that is between sizes, the easiest way to accomplish this is by using double sided tape and a fine saw as shown in the photo. The edges of the dome can be cleaned up by sticking it to your finger tip and sanding it on an emory board or a block with 400-600 grit sandpaper. This goes pretty fast and they are so inexpensive, you can afford to make some mistakes as you go along. Save the black discs as they are useful also. Look at the base of the column.
