I masked the interior cavity with a paper towel and airbrushed the white using acrylic Cel-Vinyl made by Cartoon Colour Company. I have a lot of this type of paint and I really enjoy using them. They are formulated specifically to stick to non-porous surfaces like acetate and plastic and are very opaque. White over dark gray is a very easy task.

I washed the gel off and added some character with a wash of Polly Scale Grimy Black acrylic. Further weathering was accomplished by adding a slurry of pastel powder, diluted with a 50/50 mix of water and alcohol. The “mud” was dabbed on and misted with water from a small pump bottle. This allowed some mud to settle in areas and feathered the color onto the white. The pastels are artist’s sticks and really served the purpose well as the texture was something I wanted to indicate built up mud. Some further detailing was done with adding pastels to the window and some graphite to the spare gas can. There’s not much else to tell regarding the painting and weathering. The photos complete the description.
