This last page shows some photos of the completed vignette.

While the base is a good size for a Panzer IV or Tiger Tank, I only had the old Tamiya PZ II built and ready to display.

The small size of the tank actually worked out pretty well to help illustrate the vastness of the desert and the empty space next to it looked pretty good.

I studied it a little bit and thought the negative space could use something but I couldn't think of anything too unique.
I recycled the kneeling DAK soldier from another vignette and he compliments the tank and adds a little balance to the scene.
I pressed him into the base to give him a little weight. I also pressed the tank into the base a little and added some track marks with a stick. They're hard to see in the photos though.

The project took less than two hours and lent itself to the fast pace because of the barren look it required. Adding the angle to the desert helps to make an otherwise boring setting a little more dynamic.
If you emulate this desert base, you will have a unique display, with little expense and effort. With half the foam block remaining, you can be a little more ambitious with your next project and have two or more unique bases for less than the cost of one resin cast base.
